Who you will help

The Jaffa Institute operates in some of the most disadvantaged areas in Israel, where 50% of the population lives below the poverty line and 30% regularly receive locale welfare services. In 2021, the Jaffa Institute expanded their partnership with the municipality of Bat Yam to include operating two new centres for children ages 6-12 with special needs such as learning disabilities, attention disorders and mental health issues. This program will help children acquire key learning skills to help close the educational gap between them and their peers, as well as assisting to develop key social, emotional, and behavioral skills needed to increase self-esteem and self-efficacy.

Your donation will fund

The Yahav Yovel After-School Educational Enrichment Centre lacks the equipment necessary to provide meaningful outdoor opportunities for the participating children. Support is needed to fund a new playground area. This play space is important for the growth and development of children with special needs to engage in age and skill appropriate activities that will engage not only their body but also their minds. This playground will also be a place of social interaction, helping kids build relationships in a fun and engaging atmosphere. The project will include the following:

  • Ground Preparation
  • Installation of synthetic grass and play mats
  •  Increased security with a raised perimeter fence and additional lighting
  • A state of the art Ninja playground and basketball court
